There has never been a shortage of Christmas parties in Carluke Parish - School, Sunday School, Boys’ Brigade, Girls’ Brigade, Cubs, Scouts, Brownies, Guides, Masons, WRI, Bowling Club, etc..
We thought you might like to see photos from one or two of these from the 1980s and 1990s and could perhaps help identify some of the people enjoying themselves. Also don’t forget that if you have any photos of similar happy occasions, we would be pleased if you would share them with us.
Remember the party games – The Farmer Had A Wife, The Grand Old Duke of York, BINGO, Pass The Parcel, The Hokey Cokey, Musical Chairs, Bee Baw Babbity, etc – and the food – the sausage rolls, the ham sandwiches, the fairy cakes and, of course, the jelly.
Remember too how Santa always managed to make an appearance and always had a small gift in advance of the Big Day – quite often a selection box.
